OB-1(C.I.393)
OB-1 is one of the most popular optical brightener now used in plastic products. It is famous for its high-resistance towards high temperature. Its melting point is 353—359°C and higher than other optical brighteners for plastic. OB-1 can be widely used for many plasstics, like PVC,PE,ABS etc. It can be added in many product using recycling materials and increase the white degree. Another big cusotmer is the manufacturer of polyester for textile industry. In China even one middle-size manufactuer of PE will use quite big quantity of OB-1.
OB-1 was firstly produced by Eastman company. Now there are many manufacturers supplying this product from many countries, like China,Korea,India etc. Even in China there are more than 10 manufacturers for OB-1. Because ther are at least 3kinds of synthesis method are using in these factories, the quality of product are quite different among these factoreis. Besides standard OB-1, there are many other types are produced to fulfill different need, like OB-1K for Polyester,OB-1P for masterbatch etc.
